Ruby is a Nominated Finalist in the categories of Literature and Media for the Asian Woman
of Achievement Award: an event sponsored nationally by NatWest Bank which rewards the
extraordinary achievements of Asian women across the UK.
Ruby was born in Sri Lanka and moved to London when she was 7 years old.
As a real creative and stand out talent , she has achieved much success in different fields
including TV, Film, and Books. These include numerous TV shows, scripts, documentaries, a Feature Film and a series of Children 's books.
Her Children’s adventure book series set on the beautiful tropical island of Sri Lanka
feature a little mixed race girl called Ruby who is on holiday on the island and experiences
riding rescued elephants, naughty monkeys, tropical fruit, bustling markets, tuk tuks,
ladies in saris and geckos amongst other tropical aspects. Ruby's adventure series titles
Ruby Rides an Elephant and Stop That Monkey! He Stole Ruby’s Ice Lolly! had
sell out book signings in London and Sydney. The adventure series was acclaimed for breaking
boundaries by featuring more diversity in Children's books , sparking children’s imagination
as well as educating them about another culture through the captivating storylines packed
with adventure. The bright and colourful illustrations by Artists Zara Merrick & Betty Szwagierczal really bring the adventure stories to life.
