The London Book Fair

Tuesday, April 5 2022 - Thursday, April 7, 2022

From very modest beginnings in the Berners Hotel near Oxford Street in 1971 as the Specialist Publishers’ Exhibition for Librarians, The London Book Fair – as it took the name in 1977 – has grown to be an essential part of the international book trade calendar.

The London Book Fair is the global marketplace for story creators. The publishers and deal makers. The copyright pros, the commissioners, and the global licensers. Those involved in rights negotiation across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. This is a salute to the story creators. Because this year the story is all about you.

Taking place between 5 - 7 April 2022 at Olympia London, The London Book Fair will reunite the publishing community for three days of business, networking, and learning. This will be a defining moment for the publishing community.

Derby Book Festival

Friday, May 20, 2022 - Saturday, May 28, 2022

Derby Book Festival was born over a glass of wine in QUAD by two book lovers, Jenny Denton and Sian Hoyle in February 2014. With no previous experience of running a Festival, but heaps of enthusiasm and ideas, they approached the key arts and educational organisations in the city. Their response was unanimously positive!

Derby Book Festival was launched one cold January day in Waterstones when, with the support of our partners and friends, we shared our plans for the first Festival, to be held in June 2015 over eight days.

Since then the city has embraced the Festival: it is now an annual event in the cultural calendar with a nine day Festival each June. In October 2019 we held our first three day Autumn Edition.

Our next hybrid Book Festival will feature hundreds of events for adults and children, all with in-person audiences; many will also be streamed live on the website. The 2022 Edinburgh International Book Festival will take place at the University of Edinburgh’s Edinburgh College of Art on Lauriston Place in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town.
